THE EAR

So.... This is the day before my birthday... my parents are up to visit me for the weekend, and I had planned on leaving work early today to spend time with my mom as she picked out a camera at Best Buy this afternoon.... Well WRONG!! Instead I spent 5 hours in various Doctors offices... because I hit my ear at the lumber yard this morning... What a friggin day... but for you damn naysayers, here is a picture just to prove you can get three stitches in your inner ear... But you have to find a really good doctor!!!

OK so it is grainy... but I promise you... there are three in there... where you see the red!!! CRAZY!

Gweedoe.... OUT!

The War on "Petoria" (Peterland was already taken)

OK So... with much excitement as I get in bed tonight to watch the new episode of Family Guy (one of my Favorite shows).... The Fox News special report logo comes flying across the screen. And there is George Bush, telling me why it is good we are in Iraq. Now, maybe he was upset with the new Jib Jab that was released this week about how tough 2005 was for him... Or maybe he wants to try and get his approval up so he will get better Christmas gifts from the European countries. I am not sure why he felt he had to talk to me, but really couldn't he have waited till American Dad came on, because that show just isn't funny!

UPDATE: Redemption.... Fox at least started Family Guy right after the speech.

Walmart = STILL STUPID

As I stated in a post from a month ago about Walmart, I am really not sure how they make money!!! So Allison and I went in this Christmas with her sister and Brother-in-law to but her father a big $200 high tech safe. We ordered it from the Walmart online store and had it shipped. (it was like 50 bucks to ship it!). Then a week or so later 2 boxes were delivered to us. I thought.."hummmm, i just thought it was one box?!?!?" So upon opening the boxes... There was a safe in each box. Freaked out, I check my online banking and sure enough, the fine folks at walmart only charged me for one. So yet again... Walmart has given the best gift of all this year... FREE STUFF...

For those of you keeping score... Sam Walton and family have given us a total of $303.48 in free gifts this year.... Ho ho ho... STUPID!

Thank to the UK

Well once again we have recreated a UK gameshow into american greatness! Yes, I am referring to The Discovery Channel's americanized version of "Cash Cab"

It is great! People get into a cab in New York, and tell the drive to take them to a destination... and then lights start flashing and music starts playing and they freak out. Basically the cab takes them to their destination, but they have to answer questions on the way. They get money if they get them right and they get strikes if they miss any. 3 Strikes and the driver boots them onto the street wherever they are! I really just want to goto NYC and look for the cab. The host, Ben Bailey, makes fun of the people in the cab, especially the stupid ones! It is a good time. You should totally check it out on Discovery Channel, evenings at 6p EST!

Plus the lights on the cab ceiling are freakin cool!

The Revenge of The Necks!

I Love my Hometown... was a great place to grow up... and West Virginia is a great state that really gets horribly stereotyped. Now with that said... WHAT THE HELL?

This is a picture that was taken today by my mother, from you know where.... and if you don't know... well sorry.

The first think I thought was not...

"OH NO!! A DEER FELL DOWN A HOLE, UNDER THAT TIRE, AND CAN'T GET OUT!"

or

"WOW, I KNOW THAT THE SPINNING DUBS (hub caps) WERE IN, BUT I DON'T THINK THAT THE 3 POINT BUCK DUBS WILL CATCH ON"

or

"MAN, I HOPE THAT THE DEER WASN'T USING THAT WALKER (the one leaning against the house) AND FELL INTO THAT TIRE!"

or

"DAMN! THAT IS GOING TO BE ONE GOOD CHRISTMAS FEAST!" (i could go on and on)

But seriously... it makes me think that what the hell is wrong with people... That place is such a disgrace to my hometown. I guess that is as my mother put it "that's the WV way of displaying your kill" (jokingly of course!). I can not believe this picture... I mean really! I know that every state has rednecks, and I am starting to think that WV's are the most creative! Just when you think you have seen it all... THE NECKS, top them selves. I am really surprices that they weren't dancing around it, ala Lord of the Flies, chanting! Really folks! I am not even sure what to expect next!

TRY!

OK... So I am going to spend a lot of time on my Blog... Blogging about music... cause it is something that I am very opinionated about... So here is my first new Album Review....

John Mayer Trio - TRY!

Ok so really... I am a milder fan of him and his pop silliness... BUT! I think I now understand him better... sometimes in order for muscians to play the music they are passionate about... they need to sell out (which seems to be the opposite case for Dave Matthews... do good music, then seel out) and I think that John Mayer is proving that... Surrounding himself with the amazing rhythm section of Pino Palladino (a Welsh bass player who has spend most of his 20+ year career as a studio muscian for artist as great as Eric Clapton, D'Angelo, Al DiMeola, and Femi Kuti {Fela's Son}) and Steve Jordan (NYC born drummer who has also played with Eric Clapton, Cheryl Crow, Spiro Gyro, and JAMES BROWN!).

The first single "Who Did You Think I Was" is really shades of Hendrix. That great groove feel with a bluesy undertone. The connection between the three muscians really reminds me of the heyday of Cream when Clapton and Bruce would match notes perfectly with Ginger just laying it on thick!

A few other standouts on this album (even though I honestly listen to the think top to bottom without skipping a tune) are the title track "Try!" and "Out of My Mind" for just the raw blues power that Mayer gives via his guitar playing. I also really enjoyed the version of Ray Charles' "I Got a Woman" for the funky entertainment value.

I think that Now Mayer is able to show what he really has in him... The Blues of SRV and Double Trouble, with the openness of The Jimi Hendrex Experience, and the parliament! I am really happy with this album and I hope that this new stone that Mayer has turned in him musical

As much as it may pain me to say this (mostly because John Mayer to me, up until this point, was mostly riding the coat tails of the acoustic popness of the Dave Matthews Band era) this may be my favorite album of 2005 with only 27 days left in the month, I don't think that anything will top this for me! I know... sick!

ok... that is what I think... so it must be right!
